Jensen Beach Surf Report: Live Surf Conditions & Forecast

Surf Report
Wednesday: Knee high with lucky thigh high sets from the NE at 7 sec with light southern winds.
Thursday: Due to the influence of Isaias the swell direction has sifted from earlier forecasts shadowing the Space Coast out a bit more. Right now it's looking like thigh high surf from the NE at 7 sec with light southern winds.
Looking ahead: For Friday we are Knee to thigh high from the NE at 7 sec with light south morning winds that shift to the ESE and build for the afternoon. SE winds build for Saturday to the high teens for waist to lucky chest high ESE 7 sec surf. Winds ease on Sunday dropping us back down to knee to thigh high from the ENE at 7 sec.
Jensen Beach is a relaxed Treasure Coast surf town in Martin County, north of Stuart on Hutchinson Island. It fronts an exposed beach break with offshore reef adding to the mix, giving up lefts and rights both at the beach and over the reef, and it works on all tides. The main public access is Jensen Sea Turtle Beach, a Martin County park with abundant free parking, lifeguards, and full facilities, with quieter accesses like Bob Graham Beach nearby.
Best Swell Direction: Northeast swells work best, with tropical and hurricane swells and winter nor’easters delivering the bigger, cleaner days.
Best Winds: West winds are offshore here and hold the faces clean.
Best Size: Works from waist-high on up, running small much of the year, with the better days on solid northeast swells.
Best Tide: Often best on a rising, lower tide.
Break: A mix of sand-bottom beach break and offshore reef, offering both lefts and rights. Sandbars shift along the beach, so it pays to check a few accesses.
Consistency: This far down the coast the surf is a bit less consistent than the Space Coast, since the shoreline starts to sit in the shadow of the Bahamas. It comes alive on solid northeast swells, hurricane groundswell, and winter fronts.
Crowds: A mellow, local-flavored stretch that can get busy when it is working, though the several access points help spread everyone out.
Lifeguards: Martin County Ocean Rescue staffs the guarded areas seven days a week, though the number of towers varies by day, and much of the surf sits outside those zones. Beach wheelchairs are available at no charge.
Facilities: Jensen Sea Turtle Beach aka Jensen Beach Park (4191 NE Ocean Boulevard) has restrooms, showers, picnic areas with grills, pavilions, sand volleyball courts, a concession stand, and ADA-accessible parking and restrooms. Bob Graham Beach and other nearby accesses are more basic and natural.
Operating Hours (Subject to change): The beaches are generally open during daylight hours. Confirm current hours with Martin County at https://www.martin.fl.us
Fees: Surfing, beach access, and parking are all free.
