On April 19th from noon til 10:30 PM there is going to be a birthday/benefit for
Sue Luley. Anyone who knows Sue, knows she is great lady who's a good friend to
many, many people. She has put on the Stephen Miller Blues Bash for the last 5
years, raising money to buy musical equipment for school kids. She turns the BIG
5-0 this year and we are having the party at the Cocoa Beach County Club
Pavilion with music, food and more. Sue is undergoing chemical interferon
treatments for Hepatitis C for 48 weeks. Sadly, she doesn't have medical
insurance. The treatments that she needs are very expensive and require
expensive monthly testing and have already taxed Sue financially. Anyone who has
had the Hep C treatment knows how crazy expensive it is and about the bad side
effects. Not only are we trying to raise funds to help Sue, but to create
an awareness of the disease and how important it is to get tested.
We're hoping for a fantastic turn out of course. We plan to start advertising
by the weekend and will give more details once we get the bands lined up. We're
looking for monetary donations in lieu of gifts and donations for food and
beverages. We'll have a 50/50 raffle, prize raffles and thinking about a good
ol' fashioned bake sale too.
The first meeting to sort out some of the details and to get new ideas will be
Tuesday, March 4th starting at 6:30 PM at Conch Key Grille which is located in
Rockledge at 6533 South US Hwy 1 near the intersection of Suntree Blvd.
Anyone who can help, wants to help and has a big heart for a friend in need
please come and join us while we pass around ideas and give "assignments" to
those who can help make this "Su Lu Birthday Benefit Bash" a fun, memorable
experience!
Donations may be sent to Sue's Boss - Jack Link & Associates, 1729 Cogswell
Street, Rockledge, Fl. 329 55. Attention: Jack Link
