The State is trying to give the commercial fishermen 95% of the allowed annual limit, greatly reducing the amount of fish we recreational guys can take.
They are also considering allowing longlines and the use of traps on the bottom. WHY? So are grouper sandwiches cost a little less?!
Think about all the money we as recreational fishermen spend to catch a few pounds of fish! Gas, ice, bait, rods, tackle, boats, boat maintenance, trucks, beer, etc! We end up paying way more per pound of fish than the fish is worth in a grocery store. That's why we fish!!

At the last public hearing 150 commercial fishermen attended and only 10 recreational fishermen showed up! (Many were members of this forum!) We need representation people. Please respond to the online comment sheet ASAP, before Feb 22nd. Add your own comments, it will help!!
Thank you,
Matt B and the rest of the recreational anglers in Florida.
