melbourne beach surf report

Wednesday: Thigh to lucky waist from the ESE at 9 sec in the better spots. Light onshore winds building a little for the afternoon. Afternoon low tide will be your best bet in most spots.

melbourne beach surf forecast

Thursday:  Longer period background swell takes hold in the thigh to lucky waist range in the better spots at 10 sec.  Lighter, favorable winds in the AM turn onshore but manageable after the morning hours.  It could turn into a fun day.

Looking ahead: Surf size drops off on Friday with a few smaller early leftovers possible.  Winds turn onshore adding some wind swell to the mix for the weekend.  Sunday may get a little more size but expect things to be a little disorganized and you’ll have to work for it.  Winds stay onshore for the start of next week but it looks like conditions may organize a bit for mid week with a decent day on Wednesday.   Then size drops off for Thursday and Friday.
