What are the hot spots to surf on curacao?
The official one that everybody knows is "PLAYA CANOA"....But we also surf @ boka pistol and sint joris baai..here on Curacao we surf on the north side of the island.
How is the girl's surfing scene on the island?
Right now i'm one of the two local surfer girls on the island because everybody went to study in holland. I do it because I love it...it's my biggest passion!! I've surfed for 5 years now...
Do you have many competitions on curacao or is it mainly free surfing?
Here we have our local surf competitions in december. The only time I participated when there was a "girls heat" I got 2nd place. That was 2 years ago. I participated again, but I had to compete against the guys as there was no girl's heat. From my heat of 4 guys...I was the 3rd!! hahahaha, that was a funny day...
Have you surfed other locations besides the island?
I've surfed on Bonaire and the Dominican Republic too...that was very great!!
What are your future goals with surfing?
I would really like to compete in international competitions...that's why I'm searching for sponsors! When I'm done with my study in about one year I want to leave my island to surf new waves...
